Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? – First Sentier Investors, Capital Group

First Sentier Investors
has appointed Charles Wong as director of its intermediary business. 

Singapore-based Wong is responsible for developing the business strategies of independently branded Stewart Investors, part of FSI’s investment teams. He is joining from Aviva Investors Asia, where he was the head of wholesale, Asia. Wong, who has more than 22 years of experience in financial industry, has also worked for Credit Suisse, Aberdeen Asset Management, Societe Generale Asset Management and United Overseas Bank.

In his new role, Wong reports to Christy Goh, head of distribution, Southeast Asia, FSI and Alex Tam, head of intermediary business, North Asia, FSI.

First Sentier Investors – which used to be called First State Investments – manages $146.2 billion in assets (as at 31 December 2022) on behalf of institutional investors, pension funds, wholesale distributors, investment platforms, financial advisors and their clients worldwide.

The business changed its name after it was bought by Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, in August 2019.

Capital Group
, the $2.2 trillion asset manager, has appointed Katharine Dryer as equity lead, Europe and Asia client group.

Dryer, who has more than 25 years of industry experience, was most recently deputy investment chief at Jupiter Asset Management where she served in a number of key roles for nearly 10 years.

In this newly-created role, the firm said that she would be focusing on expanding the firm’s equity distribution strategy and product development roadmap. Based in London, Dryer will report to Alexandra Haggard, head of asset class services, Europe and Asia client group.

This news service followed the recent appointment of Scott Steele as fixed income lead, Europe and Asia client group.
